Gutenberg Gala, Celebrating Canadian Print Excellence!
June 2019 – Montreal Quebec: More than 470 guests celebrated the excellence of print at this year’s Gutenberg Gala, which was held at the beautiful Bonsecours Market Ballroom in Montreal.
The Gutenberg Gala is the ultimate event for the print industry in Québec, Canada. It highlights the talent, creativity and know-how of its craftsmen. “This year, we have highlighted the youth of our industry who will ensure the sustainability for future generations. A succession formulated with the same dreams and passions as those of their predecessors. How proud we are to share innovation and to communicate the impact of print media with future generations.”, stated Lauréanne Houde-Blais, co-chair of Gutenberg 2019.
“The Committee works tirelessly to prepare each year’s Gutenberg Gala. Mark Andy and Canflexographics Ltd have been proud to work closely with the committee, to sponsor each year and to support this Canadian showcase of talent within our industry.”, stated Christine Roberts, Vice President of Canflexographics. “Mark Andy’s technological advances have assisted in the continued growth, experience and progressiveness of Canada’s print industry on the global stage.”
We would like to offer a special congratulations to the Team at Ste-Julie Printing in Montreal, who took home the Award for Best Flexible Packaging for their La Coulée, Sparkling Maple Water packaging, that was printed on a Mark Andy P7 Press.
“I am pleased to see that many companies have responded to the call!” stated Gilles Blais, President of Précigrafik and Co-President of Gutenberg 2019. “Our industry is really dynamic, and this Gala has proven it once again. People of influence from all over Quebec have converged, in this wonderful room, including Printers as well as, those who are passionate about printing – management, finishing, programming, sales, packaging and marketing teams. In the digital age, synonymous with abundance of content, the printing industry is a medium with great impact as shown by the quality of the pieces presented at this year’s celebrations. The industry is surpassing itself!”.
“Our goal was to highlight all sectors of our industry: large format, finishing, cutting, lamination, display, Flexo, label, packaging, fine paper and cardboard. Once again, we sincerely thank the 24 companies who collaborated in the production of the pieces that were showcased.”, added Hélène Pageau, ICI and member of the Organizing Committee.
“Pieces presented from the field of flexible packaging and printing have once again shown their importance this year. The interest in the Competition and the Gala continues to grow, and we are very pleased with it!”, added Stéphane Labrie, CSMOCGQ Training Coordinator and Jury Leader.
